I heard from a immigration lawyer that did a lot of work in Asia in the refugee camps in the 80’s that the job of the US Customs and Immigration services (USCIS) and the employees at the US Embassy’s around the world, that are part of the US Visa process for foreigners, that their main job is to keep people out, not to help people get immigration visas in! I was surprised to hear this as I have this concept of the Statue of Liberty and the stuff I learned in history classes that the welcomes immiagrants with open arms, today this is no longer true.
Today to get visas into the US you need to be a professional like doctor’s nurses or technical experts in areas where there are not enough qualified people in the US to fill the jobs. Or you need to be a real cultural asset like a ballet star or be outstanding in some area that makes you a treasure of sorts. Another way is to be real lucky as they have a USA Visa lottery every year and they allow so many from each country to come in but even these visa lottery winners need to meet certain qualifications that for most in the 3rd world are out of reach.
Probably the easiest way to get an immigration visa to the USA is to marry a US Citizen in that regard the easiest way for many is to get a fiancée visa and then get married in the US then the paperwork later on is easier.
