Divorce rate up, What can you do?

The reason that people end up in court suing each other for divorce in the US is caused by two main reasons and the first one isn't love but money, and in these tough economic times it is not surprising that more people are getting divorced all across the US, but i would wager that if you look at the cites and areas that have had the biggest adjustment in the real estate prices that you are going to see a spike in the number of couples filing to get their unions dissolved.

So what can you do to not end up yourself in divorce court. One of the main things is talk about it rather than fight about it and try to come up with some plans to move you out of the tight money situation towards getting back to being solvent.

If you are not working and the other spouse is, this is going to cause resentments if the party that isn't working thinks that you are not putting effort into finding a new job. Detail out what you are doing to get a new job and seek their support for your game plan and then go to it.

You can also come up with some short term ways to try to raise extra cash or figure out ways to save money for the house hold. It really is amazing that when you have a plan how much bettter everyone will feel rather than being rudderless vwhich fuels feeling of being less than.

New Credit Cards Law Protecting Your Legal Rights!

SO the 2nd thing that Fox was going off on was 21 days before the bill is due they need to have the bill to you. the obvious thing is the credit card companies holding off sending the bill to the last minute knowing that people don't always answer their mail right away. I am sure that you can get a percentage of people to miss the bill just by moving the mailing of the bill by even just one day, and then of course you have holidays, bank holidays and weekends that you can play with as well. One of the banking laws that came out of the depression was the requirement that banks not ever be closed more than 3 days in a row as this would be a way that the banks would use to keep runs on their banks down they would just close for extra days and stop people from getting there money out now they stop you from getting your money in ahhh you gotta love the ingenuity of it all.

It always seemed fishy to me, again a cheap lawyer had to come up with it, is that they sites always seemed to be down for maintenance and if that just happened to be a couple of days before your bill was due that would be very convenient for them as all they have to do is just cause a small percentage of  people to miss and they would make big free money the industry apparently made billions of dollars in late fees and I hate to think how much they made in extra interest where they snookered people into be late and then whammed them with the high rates that they were stuck with.

Credit Card Act of 2009 Now in Effect!

Well let’s see what is going to happen now that the new credit card law has come into effect. This bill was signed by the new president right after he came into power and of course the chief executive is a Ivy League lawyer himself who had a fair bit of experience working the inner city I sure that a lot of Chicago Pro bono work there dealt with this issue in a place where the egregious behavior of the credit card companies would be easy to see.

The Fox network is making a bid deal out of 3 points of the new law the first is
45 days notice before they can raise your rates, this is good as if you can you pay the card off or way down before they get a chance to really sock it to you.

As I remember from reading the law, you also can cancel the card at that time and it locks the rate that you had in, which would be the way to go I would think for most people. Of course I am sure that the not so cheap lawyers & attorneys that are working for the credit card companies are hard at work looking for ways around this or to bring some sort of legal action that will force you to pay the card off right away it will be very interesting to see how this parlays out.

Lawyers and Attorneys Administrators vs. Litigators?

When looking for affordable legal representation in a law action or for legal questions, answering this question can result in a better deal for you when hiring a lawyer or attorney, for instance, for most immigration visas you really only need someone, a law professional, that knows how to fill in a form correctly in most countries, in most cases, especially in Asia. You can find budget law firms that specialize in the processing of immigration visas, like fiancee, marriage and school visas, and because they specialize they can make it like an assembly line legal process and crank them out, which like any automated process, the more you do, and the more the costs drop and the better you get at it.

If there are difficulties then you are going to need a law firm that really understands the problem that you have, and that has had experience getting visa even when they have that particular type of legal problem, for instance if the original visa application for a fiancee visa was denied and when the case is reviewed by some one that knows, they can see that you did not do a good enough job of showing a relationship, this can be hard to fix if you don’t understand the local embassies thought process, or you inadvertently trip a red flag that is easily fixed, if you know what to be looking for that raises questions that lead to denials of visa applications.

You are going to need a litigator quality, read that not a cheap lawyer, if you have something that is blatantly wrong, or if you do something patently stupid like lie on a visa application or materially misrepresent to a counselor staff member or USCIShttp://www.cheap-lawyers.us/ official.

Cheap Lawyer Tricks?

We would like to see a change in the way that the US court system works and it was demonstrated last week in Aspen Colorado with the Charlie Sheen trail, where the government brings up a bunch of charges, but before the court gets a chance to hear the charges, the District Attorney will probably end up dropping them, as they never had any intention of trying them, they just wanted to add more weight to the severity of their case, an expensive cheap lawyer trick we feel.

We think that this is a huge waste of taxpayer’s money and in these days of bloated court schedules and tight budgets let’s put some heat on the government lawyers. Lets get a law that If they have more than 15% of the total charges they send up to the court dismissed or dropped by them, that they pay the court costs associated with these charges, and that they the lawyers personally be made to pay the fines and not pass the costs back to the taxpayers.

Immigrants and the US Census

Census in the US every ten years the US Government undertakes a massive campaign to count everyone that they can that lives in the United States, an since the first one immigrants both legal and illegal have been concerned that participating in the count will some how work against them. for many this is a historic distrust of their home government and the policies that may have even caused them to immigrate to our shores.

The truth of the matter is that the Immigrants actually can benefit in additional resources being directed towards there issues and neighborhoods. for instance if they see that the population of a given area is larger that they though from previous census the USA government or state or city government might decide to build additional infrastructure to support the higher population density, this might be better roads, better sanitation systems maybe even more police protection.

From the US Census website I’m concerned that this may be the first time the census will count non-citizens.
The U.S. Constitution mandates us to count everyone, including both citizens and non-citizens. We’ve followed this mandate, since the first census in 1790. The Framers of the Constitution made it clear they wanted “all inhabitants” of the country counted in the U.S. Census, and every Presidential Administration since that time that has overseen a Census has interpreted the Constitution and the laws require everyone be counted.

Returning Vets and the Legal System

We here at Cheap Lawyers have been discussing like most American several issues recently that have been topics everywhere here in the US and abroad. Returning Vets from Afghanistan and Iraq are suffering, some say, even higher levels of combat fatigue which manifests itself as Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome than in past conflicts. The main reason the experts feel that this is the case is because of the extended tours of duty. What is happening now is that these vets are coming back to the USA and they are scarred from their experience and they find themselves in the court system after acting out in some way that puts them in contact with law enforcement.

Some jurisdictions with enlightened jurists are starting to see this and are finding ways to divert them from jail and into treatment. We agree with this wholeheartedly. The idea that people that are in life threatening situations for a year and then another year and then another year and expect them not to be affected is insane on societies part, and to jail these heroes who are protecting our rights and our laws, which protects our rights and jail them is wrong!

I saw an amazing thing when I was in Denver International Airport over the Christmas Holiday and that was the universal applause for every soldier in uniform that appeared from the landing gates at the airport. I am not one for tears usually but regardless of how you feel about these conflicts, you cannot help but be proud when you see overt displays of support for our troops. I remember clearly the reception that out Viet Vets received and was very happy to see that everyday Americans were supporting their troops regardless of their beliefs, which we should have done then, and for which we as a society do owe that generation of warriors an continuing apology.

Let’s do the right thing now, for the veterans of this generation, and protect our returning warrior’s rights and see to it that they are afforded every chance to live the American Dream of Life,Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness that they put their lives on the line to defend.

New Laws against freedom of speech in Asia?

In Cambodia a new government law proposal is to funnel all local ISP (Internet service providers) through a state-run exchange has prompted concern that a state run morality committee plans to increase its monitoring of web sites.

This is very similar to what they have done in China and it is seen as being very bad for business, not to mention human rights, which Cambodia all ready has a deservedly bad reputation.

Cheap Lawyers would like to see something like a Radio Free America where the USA sets up a satellite that allows free transmission and receiving of internet bandwidth over poor and oppressed countries.

1) We like the freedom of the internet cross talk, it makes it hard for bad things to happen with out the rest of the world knowing, and if there is enough oil there to actually do something about it and Cambodia does have oil.  Myanmar is now blocking any cell phones with internet ability from entering the country to keep a lid on information getting out, as well as charging stupid amounts for Sim cards to, again, limit the transmission of information in real time.

2) It will allow poor people to join the information age which will raise their standard of living through self education a key concept of US Democracy.

New Michigan divorce?

There is a new divorce program in Michigan and we sincerely hope that the method is passed along to all of the states in the US, as divorce American style is a nasty process that the only real winners are the lawyers.  The new process uses lawyers, accounts and psychologists to address all of the needs of the family in a divorce.  This method is much better for everyone, even the lawyers, rather that being the legal battles that drain resources both mental emotional and monatary, that the family's are going to need to regroup in the new configuration after the life changing event is over.

Cheap Lawyers believes strongly that if you end up in front of judge that everyone loses.

Divorce is a life-changing event. A select group of attorneys can now offer a better way to end a marriage through specialized advanced training in Collaborative Divorce. This groundbreaking method revolutionizes the way couples divorce. It addresses your legal, financial, and emotional needs and achieves the best family arrangement possible. Families at war produce only losers and no winners. This exciting new process empowers you – not lawyers or a judge – to shape the outcome of your divorce.
